FRP IRON REMOVAL

            IRON REMOVAL UNITS

Iron Removal Filter (Water Treatment plants)

We have carved out a position in manufacturing and supplying a wide range of highly efficient Iron Removal Filters (Water Treatment Plants). These are widely used in various industries to remove dissolved iron from water and have gained skyrocketing popularity in the market for their high performance and longer service life. The entire range is manufactured using high grade factor inputs and sophisticated technologies in order ensure quality and high performance. Furthermore, these treatment plants can also be customized with the help of our vendors in accordance with clients’ specifications and requirements.

In additions, Raw water generally contains soluble iron in form of ferrous bicarbonate and in soluble as ferric hydroxide. The water containing ferrous bicarbonate is clear when drawn from a tube well. But as soon as it comes in contact with air develops a whitish haze which on longer standing turns yellowish and then forms yellowish to reddish-brown deposits of hydrated ferric oxide; some of this deposit sticks to the side of the container and the rest sinks to the bottom. Oxidation of ferrous bicarbonate is usually accomplished by the dissolved oxygen introduced into the water by aeration as per following reaction.

2Fe(HCO3)2            +
1/2 O2    +
H2O
2Fe(OH)3             +
4CO2
Ferrous bicarbonate
Oxygen
Water
            ferric Hydroxide
Carbon Dioxide
From the above reaction it appears that 1ppm of dissolved oxygen oxidizes 7ppm of ferrous iron as Fe. As solubility of oxygen from air dissolved in water at 600 F is 10ppm. Theoretically water saturated with dissolved air contains enough oxygen to oxidize 70ppm of ferrous iron.

Process:

·                Water directly from the tube well is first passed into the aeration chamber packed with manganese base catalyst.
·                Before entering into the Aeration Chamber air is injected with water from an Air Compressor.
·                According to the above reaction iron is oxidized into ferric form water is then passed through the Iron Removal Filter packed with Catalytic Filtering Media Here the residual ferrous iron is oxidized into ferric and entire precipitated ferric hydroxide is filtered out.
·                The precipitated and entrapped ferric hydroxide is then removed from the bed during back- washing.

·                Housing
·                Flats
·                Laundries
·                Tea Garden

Domestic Iron Removal Filters

Manganese Greensand Iron Filters
The Manganese Greensand Iron Filter effectively removes Oxidized and Soluble iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg odor) usually found in well water.

Green sand Filter Schematic

Manganese Greensand Iron Filter
These Iron Filter systems use a high quality manganese greensand media. The system is installed in the main water line. When the raw water enters your iron filter it passes down through the filter media and gets oxidized. This causes precipitation of the minerals and any iron, manganese or hydrogen sulfide present in your water supply is trapped resulting in a clean, filtered water flow to your household. The filter media is periodically regenerated automatically, backwashing the trapped minerals to the drain and regenerated by replacing the oxygen. This is done by introducing potassium permanganate to the media. The system comes with the Potassium Permanganate container. With proper installation it removes the following contaminants resulting in a healthier water. (removal per cubic foot)
·                                 15 ppm of both ferric (oxidized) and ferrous (clear) iron
·                                 5 ppm of Hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg odor)
·                                 10 ppm of manganese

Note: These systems are design for water supplies with pH between 6.2 and 8.8. If your water supply has a pH of 6.1 or less, you need to neutralize pH before passing through this system.

CALCULATING REMOVAL CAPACITIES:
Manganese Greensand filters are deigned for operation with intermittent regenerations. That is to say that they will treat a “batch” or calculated amount of water before regeneration will need to take place. It is important to remember to not allow the filter to reach complete exhaustion before regenerating.
Basing the removal capacity on a total combined concentration of iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide, the following is a typical example or template for deter- mining the approximate demand on a greensand filter.
To calculate capacity: Regenerated with 4 ounces (0.25 lbs.) of KMnO4, one cubic foot of manganese greensand will yield about 10,000 ppm of removal.
To calculate demand:
RAW WATER CONTAMINANT FACTOR
= DEMAND
3.0 ppm Iron (Fe)
x 1.0 = 3.0 ppm
0.3 ppm Manganese (Mn)
x 2.0 = 0.6 ppm
0.2 ppm Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S)
x 5.0 = 1.0 ppm
TOTAL DEMAND
= 4.6
To calculate gallons between regenerations per cubic foot:

10,000 ppm capacity per cubic foot / 4.6 ppm demand = 2175 gallons.

Birm Iron Filters

The Birm Iron Filter efficiently removes iron where hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg odor) is NOT present, organic matters do not exceed 4 ppm and pH level is greater than 6.8 The Birm Iron filter will also remove Manganese in applications where the Ph level is between 8 and 9.

Our Birm Iron Filters can remove up to 10 ppm of both ferric (oxidized) and ferrous (clear) iron and 5 ppm of manganese. Birm is an aluminum silicate media coated with manganese dioxide. This coating is highly concentrated with oxygen and acts as an insoluble catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen and the the iron compounds. In essence, the dissolved iron is oxidized at the surface of the media into a rust particle that can be effectively filtered from the water. The precipitated iron and manganese can then be easily removed from the system during backwash. No chemical regeneration is required and nothing is imparted into the drinking water.
For Birm to effectively remove iron, the pH of the raw water must be greater than 6.8. If both Iron and Manganese are present, the pH should be between 7.5 and 8.5. For Manganese removal the pH should be between 8.0 and 9.0 for best results.
The water must have a dissolved oxygen content equal to at least 15% of the iron content. Since many waters do not have a high content of dissolved oxygen, an air injection system is recommended in conjunction with the Birm Filter for most effective operation.
Operated under proper conditions, the Birm Iron Backwash filter requires no chemical for maintenance and regeneration is not required. Iron removal efficiency is extremely high, with only periodic backwashing required. The Birm Filter Media is a durable material with a long life and a wide temperature range.

                                                                        : Domestic Water Purifier

                                          2) Commercial Type: Waste Water Treatment
                                                                        : Mineral Water Plants.

Dear customers
Now a day's purity of drinking water is our main concern because the source of water is being contaminated. these days dissolved impurities like rust, salts and heavy metals are  increased in the water supplies to our office/residence, irrespective of whether it from municipal or ground water sources. By the times the water reaches our taps, it gets further contaminated on the way in the pipeline network.
These contaminants include the following

1 Physically:    Rust, mud and there solid particles.
2 Chemically : Iron, Ammonia, Fluoride Pesticides and  Heavy    metal  ie lead, arsenic ,lead which may be        the cause of      Human cancer.
3 Biologically: Bacteria, Virus, Cyst .this can lead to diseases like cholera, Dysentery,    Diarrhea and typhoid and many more others.

To solve the above water related problems
ELECTROTECH INDUSTRIES an ISO 9001:2000 Certified Company having membership of INTENATIONAL WATER QUALTIY ASSOCIATION .USA (WQA) introduces RO technology EIGEN WATER PURIFIER with Ultra Violet (UV) disinfected system.

Eigen TM  RO & UV  water Technology.

Reverse osmosis System:

Reverse osmosis system include TFC membrane which removes all type of Physically, Chemically and Biologically impurities of water

The membrane consists of several thin layers/ sheets of film that are bonded together and rolled in a spiral configuration around a plastic tub. The material of the membrane is semi permeable it can removes impurities as small 0.0001 micron in size (where a human hair is 50-70 micron in size). it allows water molecules pass through while acting as a barrier to dissolved solids (i.e.: mineral chemical contaminants). When the feed water stream passes across the surface of the membrane, the PPW* molecules penetrate the membrane surface, working their way around the spiral and collecting in the center tube. The remaining contaminants are concentrated and washed from the surface of the membrane down the drain.

UV Disinfected System.

Ultraviolet Disinfected System uses a UV light source (lamp) which is enclosed in a protective transparent sleeve (usually quartz). The lamp is mounted such that water passing through a flow chamber is exposed to the UV-C light rays. When harmful microbes are exposed to the UV rays, it will render sterile and can no longer reproduce. The cell is now considered dead and is no longer a threat. UV is known to be highly effective against bacteria, viruses, algae, molds and yeasts, and disease causing bacteria.
